Furry Friends

'I have a 27-year-old friend' who contemplated getting rid of her stuffed animals for 2 hours this weekend and decided against it. 'My friend' would like to know if it is okay for someone soon to be in their late twenties to possess a small assortment of furry friends. Please don't laugh at her, she is very sensitive.

She will regret it if she does. There's nothing wrong with having a large collection of stuffed animals. There is just something wrong with having them displayed on your bed every day and sleeping amidst them every night, even if they can be a warm, friendly, healthy security blanket. It doesn't matter if you're a 27 year old girl, a 28 year old boy, or a 50 year old father of three... besides, maybe the future children will appreciate a hand-me down... anonymous

You gotta keep them. If you are feeling guilty, feel free to weed the collection down slightly. This 20-something gal still has her collection.
It reminds me of a garage sale when I was about 8 before my family moved to the 'big city' ... my mother sold a whole bunch of the favourite furry friends; my fushia elephant with the bendy ears, my wuzzle (a butterbear I believe), a popple and numerous others. Mom still comments from time to time that she regrets that particular garage sale.

She should keep the very special ones. My mom got rid of everything except a few stuffed animals which I passed onto my kids. If she ever has kids they'll treasure them.
