so embarrassed.

if you happened to be held up in the varsity view area last night by some emergency vehicles rushing to a supposed fire, i apologize. i heated up my stir-fry pan a little too much and set off the smoke detector. the smoke detector is linked into the alarm system and little did i know, an alarm system does not only need to be disarmed you also need to talk to the alarm system dispatcher to avoid having fire-fighters show up at your house. a mere ten minutes after setting off the alarm, my little apartment was surrounded by some of saskatoon's finest and a few moments later i had some of them in full gear rampaging my apartment with axes in their arms. i have never been so mortified as when i was explaining that i #1 set off the alarm while cooking then #2 didn't know how to properly disengage my alarm system. luckily they laughed and told me they were just happy i was okay. actually, i even got a playful punch in the arm from one of them. so here's to knowing i am well protected, even when i am in no real danger.
