Test of endurance

My former supervisor referred to a PhD as a 'test of endurance' yesterday. The adrenalin and excitement about my project wore off about 4 months ago and I am praying I my endurance will last another year to 18 months ...

A good weekend

Ten years ago, if you told me I would think a great weekend involves making 7 pies, 4 jars of dilled beans and 7 jars of pickles along with a couple of meals and 10 liters of cooked beans, I would have thought you were nuts. I love being domestic for short periods of time!

Due to the large welt on my shin, as of tonight I vow to:

A) Never play keeper in co-ed campus rec soccer where there are a lot of very fast, skill-less, out of control male strikers.

B) Stop being so cheap and buy myself something a little better than the cheapest available shin guards.

You should see this thing ... it is already sitting a centimeter above my leg. It made me drop the f-bomb (by accident of course) when it happened. Maybe I'll have to post some pics once it turns purple. It may even challenge the 'a-hole biking on the the wrong side of the path' bruise I had last summer.
